The Future of Split-Screen Gaming

Rate this Entry
Ever had a friend come over for a gaming session? Well then if you've played a first person shooter, sports games, etc. you've probably engaged in a split-screen gaming.

The biggest problem with split-screen, however, is screen peaking. Well now Sony has come up with an idea that will eliminate any problems with screen peaking, assuming you already have a 3D TV and 2 pairs of 3D glasses.

Just think playing a baseball or football game and being able to choose a pitch or play without the other person seeing it. Or playing a FPS and keeping your sniping spot a secret. Yes the easy way out of this is online multiplayer but maybe your friend doesn't own the game or may not have internet. This could be a really bring split-screen gaming into this new age of gaming.

That's quite an interesting concept. I wonder how expensive those glasses will be or how you actually set up the frequencies.

Yea, i guess they'll either come out with 3D/Splitscreen glasses, or you might just have to buy different pairs, one for 3D and the other for Splitscreen. Still it'll probably still cost a boat load of money....

@Hobo: Well I'm not sure it will be 3D. It just uses 3D tech. You'll be able to see fullscreen of your side, while the other person sees full screen on their side. Both on the same screen at the same time.
