Cat Shit One

Never thought I'd actually write a blog, let alone a blog about a 3D animation of all things... but this series is peculiar enough that it deserves a mention and perhaps more recognition.

So where to start off... first of all, if you took the title literally, then you're in for a disappointment. There were no cats, and certainly no grass manure.
Cat Shit One is actually the codename for the American platoon Packy and Botasky belongs to, whom were ex-military men after the Cold War.

Now Packy and Botasky (Bota for short) are bunnies. Yes, BUNNYS!

Now before you make light of this show, despite their appearance when these two troopers are together, they mean serious business.

Now with the brief introduction of the protagonists out of the way, let's move on to the episode itself. It starts off in a desert (presumably somewhere in Africa) and the duo's mission is to rescue some hostages (Canarians) who were captured by terrorists (who are camels). It might sound stupid but you really have to see for yourself, and as an aside, all future episodes will feature different ethnic groups as different types of animals. So if you are a bit sensitive about that, then this series might not be for you.

Anyway, Packy and Bota realized reinforcement will take some time to arrive and fearing that the hostages will be killed, Packy decided that there's no time to waste. Packy suggested that now is the time to rescue these hostages. Bota, showing his coward side, decides to back Packy up as the sniper. Despite that they're severely outnumbered 52-2, Packy tried to reassure Bota that they're the pros and this should be a cinch. With that, Packy charges right into enemy territory.

Visually, this CG animation is absolutely stunning. You'd thought this is something that should be made for the big screen and not television. Animation is very fluid, you can say there's no fault there. Packy and Botasky already become quite formidable and likeable, even though it's only based on one episode. Episode 1 is just non-stop action and pure badassery, the two are really men in bunny suits. Story-wise, well, there's not much to talk about here but very likely, each upcoming episode would be focused on the duo performing their mission in some base in some part of the world. Anything mercenaries may be hired to do, you might expect to see them do it. Whether it's to rescue people, stealing some important artifacts, as long as it doesn't violate their code of honor, you can probably expect the bunny duo to take on the mission.

I didn't feel like giving it a look at first, coz to the frank, the title is well, pretty crappy. But after seeing some screenshots, I decided to spend 20 minutes on it and wow, it didn't disappoint and certainly not wasted. Although it's definitely not an "anime" as some would have called it even though it was adapted from a manga. The original source was a manga drawn by Kobayashi Motofumi, which started in 1998 and lasted 3 volumes. It's also known as "Apocalypse Meow" in the West. No ETA has been announced for the second episode, but with this kind of quality, I think we can expect considerable preparation time.

If you're a fan of games like Metal Gear Solid, Battlefield, Modern Warfare and other shooter games, you shouldn't miss this out. Heck, even if you aren't, if you are looking for some great action and a couple of (manly) rabbits go to work then you're in for a treat.

Most people yelled at me and said it's not anime so it would suck, but I found this to be rather entertaining, and may end up becoming a fav for all bunny lovers.

This does seem like something that should be on the big screen. It's animated so well, I'm impressed
The first episode of it was great.
